Measures being taken to tackle impact of sanctions

TEHRAN, Oct. 19 (MNA) – Hamid Ghanbari, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy says his country has taken measures after the snapback of UN sanctions triggered by the three European powers.

Speaking in a seminar on Sunday in Tehran, Ghanbari touched upon the illegal snapback of the UN sanctions after the termination of the UNSC 2231 by the three European powers, saying that Tehran does not recognize the snapback of the UN sanctions by them.

He stated that, "Experience has shown us over the recent years that the effects of sanctions are real, and therefore the country's official policy has changed towards 'active tackling of the sanctions and holding negotiations to eliminate their effects.'

"Efforts have been made to find and implement solutions to reduce the impact of the sanctions on trade and people's livelihood," the deputy of foreign minister Araghchi said.

"If the domestic economy is strong, Iran will have the upper hand at the negotiating table," he further highlighted.
